Old Punjabi Pakistani wedding chair hand-crafted of wood. The Chair is hand-painted in vibrant reds. Decorative painted spindles adorn the backrest and under panels of the arms. There is some minor fading of paint colour on legs and armrests and slight paint loss commensurate with age and use.

This decorated silver hairpin was made by the Hmong, a fiercely independent hill tribe people found throughout SE Asia and Southern China. The hairpin is hollow with silver filigree decoration and is made from good silver. In the past, hill tribe women would sometimes fill the shaft with valuable items such as opium.Antique Hmong silver hairpins of this nature are rarely seen in Laos now.

"Among the notable nāgas of Buddhist tradition is Mucalinda, Nāgarāja and protector of the Buddha. In the Vinaya Sutra (I, 3), shortly after his enlightenment, the Buddha is meditating in a forest when a great storm arises, but graciously, King Mucalinda gives shelter to the Buddha from the storm by covering the Buddha's head with his seven snakeheads." cit. This necklace is of a type of work known as kamardani, but this example is of high quality. The style of chain is loop in loop with a hooked closure. The effect of the flexible, loop-in-loop chain is that its movement imitates that of a snake, which has associations in Hinduism with fertility and creation.
